BIS FMCS stands for Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme. It was introduced in the year 2000 to allow foreign manufacturers to get BIS certification without having a manufacturing unit in India. Under this scheme, BIS grants a BIS FMCS Certificate to overseas manufacturers whose products comply with Indian Standards (IS).
