The Ancient Vows quest in Act 2 is one of those bits of Path of Exile 2 that sounds simple until you're standing there with one odd relic in your bag and no clear clue what to do next. I've seen plenty of players assume they've missed an NPC, a hidden room, or some fancy altar interaction. Nope. The quest just expects you to collect both halves first. While you're sorting out your campaign progress, gear, and trade plans, it's easy to get distracted by things like poe2 cheap divine orbs, but for Ancient Vows, the only thing that matters is tracking down the Kabala Clan Relic and the Sun Clan Relic.

Where the Kabala Clan Relic drops

The Kabala Clan Relic comes from Keth, and there's no special chest you need to open. You don't have to hug every wall or spam-click every bit of scenery either. Just clear the area and kill the serpent-style enemies as you go. It's a random drop, so it can feel a little awkward if you're unlucky. One player might get it in two minutes, while another has to loop around the zone again. That's normal. If it doesn't appear right away, reset your expectations rather than your whole build. Keep clearing packs, check the ground carefully, and make sure your loot filter isn't hiding anything strange.

Finding the Sun Clan Relic

After that, head to The Bone Pits for the Sun Clan Relic. This one works much the same way. It drops from enemies in the zone, not from a guaranteed boss chest or a quest marker that flashes in your face. The Bone Pits can be a bit messy visually, so it's worth slowing down after big fights and scanning the loot names before moving on. If you're rushing the campaign, this is where you can easily miss it. I'd clear in a steady path, avoid skipping too many side packs, and give the zone a proper sweep before deciding the drop is being stubborn.

Using both relics at the altar

Once both relics are in your inventory, travel to the Valley of the Titans. The good news is that the altar isn't buried at the far end of the map. It's close to the waypoint, near the large stone medallion structure. Walk up to it and place both relics into the interface. If the interaction feels clunky, you're not imagining it. Sometimes the altar doesn't seem to respond cleanly when you drag items across. Turning on always-show item labels can help, and so can repositioning your character slightly before trying again. It's a small thing, but it saves a surprising amount of clicking.

Choosing the reward that fits your build

The reward gives you a choice between increased Charm Charges and increased Mana Recovery from Flasks. If your character burns through mana during longer boss fights, the flask recovery option can feel great while leveling. If your mana is already under control, extra charm value may be the better defensive pick, especially when elemental hits start getting annoying. You're not married to the choice, which is the part many people miss. You can return to the altar later and swap it if your gear or setup changes. Players who use trading services or buy game currency and items through u4gm may change builds often, so having a flexible quest reward like this is genuinely handy during the campaign.
